Miquel Àngel Amer has a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering by Ramón Llull University and a Master in Automated Production and Robotics by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). Since 1996 he has been a lecturer at Escola Universitària Salesiana de Sarrià (EUSS). In 2014 he joined the UPC research group Sensors Systems Group. Within the group he has developed his research career in the field of sensors for different applications related with industry, medicine and environment areas. It is worth highlighting his research work on "on-line" and non-destructive monitoring of processes using piezoelectric sensors and in ultrasound-based systems. He has participated in 2 research projects funded by public agencies at the state level. His research work has resulted in 17 journal publications and conference contributions.

Scientific interests

My research interests at present revolve around the following lines: On-line and non-destructive monitoring of chemical and biological processes based on piezoelectric sensors. Application of new methodologies based on active learning, projects and research in the field of Higher Education, and more specifically, in engineering careers.
