Research description

The goal of this reseach line is to develop and implement an experimental set-up of a smart grid. The set-up will allow students to experiment the role of Power Electronics, Electric Power Engineering and Information Technolgies within the smart grid concept. The smart grid will consist of several distributed generation and storage units, controlable loads and the low voltage distribution grid. The work developed so far has focus on the distributed generation units.
